With the introduction of the 1,918-passenger ms Noordam in early 2006, Holland America Line’s fleet grows to 13 ships, offering nearly 500 cruises from more than 25 home ports. Built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, the flagship ms Amsterdam sets the standard for our fleet of five-star cruise ships. As the third ship bearing the name of the Dutch capital in the line’s more than 130-year history, the ms Amsterdam blends the very latest in shipbuilding technology with the artistry, personalized touches, and superior service that has made Holland America Line one of the highest-rated cruise lines in the world. To be delivered in summer 2008, the new Eurodam marks Holland America Line’s next class of vessels and at 2044 passengers the largest ever constructed for the premium line. With an estimated all-in cost of $450 million, the new 86,000-ton Panamax Eurodam will be built at Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard. The Eurodam will further the evolution of Holland America Line’s sophisticated mid-sized ships. With 11 passenger decks, new innovations include a topside 144-seat Pan-Asian restaurant and 50-seat lounge surrounded by panoramic views overlooking the ocean expanse and the Lido pool. Other additions are an Explorer’s Lounge Bar, a new specialty restaurant adjacent to the Lido offering the finest in Italian food, elegant luxury jewelry boutiques, new atrium bar area, enhanced and reconfigured show lounge with theater-style seating, and a new photographic and imaging center. - ms Maasdam –
The ms Maasdam is the fifth ship in Holland America Line’s more than 130-year history to bear the name. Featuring an interior motif that pays homage to the historical Dutch East and West India companies of the 17th through 19th centuries, the centerpiece of this elegant ship features Luciano Vistosi’s “Totem,” a monumental sculpture using nearly 2,000 glimmering pieces of glass, prominently displayed in a soaring three-story atrium. She exudes a warm, elegant feel throughout by combining rich, polished woods and more than $2 million antiques and art collection. - ms Nieuw Amsterdam –
Delivering in 2010, the 86,000-ton Nieuw Amsterdam will be built at Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard and its interior design and art collection will reflect the glamour and history of New York City, formerly called Nieuw Amsterdam. Nieuw Amsterdam, joins the recently launched Eurodam to further define and expand the Holland America Line premium brand with new concepts such as the innovative pan-Asian Tamarind restaurant and Silk Den lounge surrounded by panoramic views overlooking the ocean expanse and the Lido pool. Designed expressly to explore the rare corners of the world, the ms Prinsendam accommodates less than 800 guests, giving our guests the intimate feel of a yacht with the spaciousness of a large cruise ship. As the sixth ship to bear the name, the flagship ms Rotterdam is the standard-bearer for our Atlantic fleet of five-star cruise ships. The ms Statendam is the fifth ship to bear the name in Holland America Line’s 133-year history. With more than $2 million worth of art and artifacts, the ms Statendam features a theme of Dutch life and exploration. The Van Gogh Theater is a work of art in itself. Themed to Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings “The Starry Night” and “Irises,” the room features computerized fiber optic lighting as well as a state-of-the-art sound system.
